Assessment is critical to gauging student progress and modifying instruction to meet student needs. Students at GSD are assessed in a variety of ways. Students participate in the Georgia Milestones Assessments (End of Course assessments in grades 9-12 and End of Grade assessments in grades 3-8) or the Georgia Alternative Assessment (as determined by the IEP). GSD teachers also employ local assessments to monitor and track student progress throughout the year.
