Speech and Language Services
Georgia School for the Deaf offers speech and language services by a certified and licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) who provides services in American Sign Language (ASL) and English (both written and spoken) in order to support communication development in students. SLPs can provide comprehensive speech and language assessments, direct student services, and consultations to address student needs. They work with individuals and small groups in the therapy room and in the classroom in order to address Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals developed individually to meet each student’s needs. The program is designed to meet the unique needs of each student and support them to reach their full potential in communication. GSD's Speech-Language Pathologist collaborates closely with Bilingual Educators to enhance student outcomes in both ASL and English.
